TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 18, 2012) - Enbridge Gas Distribution encourages everyone to 'step up for a better city for all' during the 2012 Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way today, Saturday and Sunday. Climbers can register for the Saturday public climb and the Sunday corporate climb at the event, as space allows, or sponsor climbers online.
As climbers scale the 1,776 steps of the tower, they will help support a network of community agencies supported by United Way.
"As a proud sponsor of the Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way for more than a decade, Enbridge and its employees encourage you to help take United Way's efforts to new heights," said Guy Jarvis, President, Enbridge Gas Distribution. "By climbing or sponsoring a climber, you can help United Way move people from poverty to possibility. Together, we can help build healthy people and strong communities."
This annual event attracts athletes and other community members looking to make a difference in their community. The Enbridge CN Tower Climb for United Way supports a network of United Way agencies across Toronto that provide vital services to people in the community. The impact of the Climb extends even further. Funds raised support strategic, long-term efforts to strengthen neighbourhoods, by addressing the conditions that lead to social problems.
"This is an event that I truly look forward to each year," said Susan McIsaac, President and CEO, United Way Toronto. "The enthusiasm and commitment of people to strengthen our city is inspiring. At a time when many in our community are struggling and many more are vulnerable to falling behind, it's heartening to think that thousands of people will come together this weekend to support their neighbours and community."
