TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 13, 2011) - Today representatives from Enbridge Gas Distribution (TSX:ENB) (NYSE:ENB) and the Town of Markham marked the official groundbreaking of a new state-of-the-art centre designed to: (i) facilitate Enbridge's ongoing commitment to safety; (ii) offer new advancements in field training for employees; and (iii) serve as a regional operations and warehouse facility.
"The new centre will bring together safety training for our employees across Ontario under one roof. It features an innovative one-acre outdoor streetscape where employees can train in a safe and controlled, hands-on environment," said Guy Jarvis, President, Enbridge Gas Distribution.
In keeping with Enbridge Gas Distribution's long-standing leadership in energy efficiency, the building has also been designed to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold level designation.
