Enbridge Gas Distribution President Janet Holder Named One of Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 30, 2009) - Janet Holder, President, Enbridge Gas Distribution (TSX:ENB) (NYSE:ENB) was recognized today by the Women's Executive Network (WXN) as one of Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100.

WXN is Canada's leading organization dedicated to the advancement and recognition of executive-minded women in the workplace. The 7th annual awards honour women who are proven achievers in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Ms. Holder was recognized in the Corporate Executives category.

Ms. Holder leads Canada's largest natural gas distribution utility with 1.9 million customers in more than 100 communities across Ontario. Ms. Holder was appointed President in January 2008 and is the first woman to hold the position in Enbridge Gas Distribution's more than 160-year history.

"As a leader, one of the things that I enjoy most is being able to help employees, including women, recognize and fulfill their passions, both inside and outside of work," said Holder. "Understanding what really makes us happy and pursuing it is what will make us successful."

Ms. Holder advances opportunities for other women by championing Women@Enbridge, an employee development program, as executive sponsor at Enbridge Gas Distribution. Together with the leaders of Hydro One and Union Gas, Ms. Holder also established Women of Energy, a similar initiative which extends to women in the Ontario energy sector.

Ms. Holder is a long-time community volunteer and leader. Her volunteerism has ranged from her participation on the WXN's Advisory Board in Edmonton to clowning for patients at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She is currently on the governance and foundation boards of Saint Elizabeth Health Care, a Director on the West Park Healthcare Centre Foundation Board and Chair of the Natural Resources Division of the United Way Toronto Campaign Cabinet. She was recently appointed to the University of New Brunswick's Board of Governors.
