Simple solutions from Enbridge Gas Distribution can help consumers reduce natural gas use and save money
TORONTO, ONTARIO--Cold weather and windchill factors that send chills down your spine also put added pressure on your natural gas furnace. "The colder it is outside, the harder your furnace works to heat your home," said Arunas Pleckaitis, Vice President, Enbridge Gas Distribution. "The harder your furnace works, the more natural gas it uses and the more money you pay." The Energy Efficiency Fact Sheet is available to customers on the Enbridge Gas Distribution website at www.enbridge.com/gas. It can help customers reduce the amount of natural gas they use, and save money, without compromising home comfort. Why heat the great outdoors? You can reduce natural gas use by up to nine per cent by sealing cracks and drafts around windows, doors and electrical sockets. Is your home toasty warm while you are at work or tucked in bed? You can cut natural gas use by as much as six per cent by lowering the temperature in your home by three degrees for an eight-hour period each day. "As a distributer of natural gas, we educate customers about ways to use it more efficiently," said Pleckaitis. "We also offer incentives, such as rebates, to help customers save money on energy-efficient decisions." Want to save on the cost of a programmable thermostat? A programmable thermostat can help you save on your energy bills. Enbridge Gas Distribution helps you save on the cost of the thermostat with a $15 rebate. A copy of the Energy Efficiency Fact Sheet and more information about rebate offers is available at www.enbridge.com/gas or by clicking on the following link http://www2.cdn-news.com/database/fax/2000/ENB0203.pdf.
