LIVONIA, MICHIGAN--Vector Pipeline today announced the start-up of
the Highland compressor station in southeastern Michigan.
"With the addition this week of the Highland compressor station to
the Vector system, our total capacity will be approximately one
billion cubic feet per day," said Craig R. Fishbeck, Vector
President. "This continues our planned enhancement of competitive
transportation services to northwest Indiana, southern Michigan,
southwestern Ontario and markets beyond."
The Highland station, with two 15,000-HP compressor units, is
located in Highland Township, Oakland County, Michigan.
The 42- and 36-inch Vector pipeline transports Western Canadian
and U.S. natural gas from interconnects with Alliance, Northern
Border and other pipelines at the market hub in Chicago, Illinois,
to the hub at Dawn, Ontario, while also providing access to
markets and storage in the U.S. Upper Midwest. As a competitive
additional supply source at Dawn, Vector can serve key markets in
the Ontario and Quebec provinces of Canada, along with the
northeast region of the United States.
