Enbridge and ACE INA Insurance Launch New Payment Protection Plan: Monthly Bill Covered for up to Six Months if Customer Loses Job

TORONTO, ONTARIO--Enbridge Commercial Services Inc. and ACE INA

Insurance announced today the launch of a new service for

residential customers of Enbridge in Ontario. The Enbridge Payment

Protection Plan, administered by ACE INA Insurance and jointly

underwritten by ACE INA Insurance and CIGNA Life Insurance Company

of Canada, provides coverage for a customer's Enbridge account in

the event of involuntary unemployment, temporary total disability,

permanent total disability and death.

"Protecting and providing for ourselves and our families is

important to most people," said Steve Letwin, Group

Vice-President, Enbridge Distribution and Services. "The new plan

will offer peace of mind for customers who are concerned about

paying their bill in a time of personal crisis. Customers need to

look at the plan in terms of their own personal circumstances and

decide if it is right for them."

The Enbridge Payment Protection Plan will cover the monthly

regular charges appearing on a customer's Enbridge account for up

to a total of six months, up to a maximum of $500 per month, for

temporary disability and involuntary unemployment. For permanent

disability, the principal owing on the Enbridge Finance Plan

Balance, up to a maximum of $20,000, would be paid. In the case of

death, the plan covers regular monthly charges, up to a maximum of

$500 a month, for up to 12 months and the principal owing on the

Enbridge Finance Plan Balance up to a maximum of $20,000.

Premiums for coverage will vary depending on the amount of regular

charges on a customer's bill. Regular charges refer to amounts

most commonly found on a customer's Enbridge bill. This includes

all natural gas related charges, rental charges, heating/cooling

protection plan charges and installments on purchases financed on

the Enbridge bill.

The Enbridge Payment Protection Plan is available to Enbridge

residential customers in Ontario with accounts in good standing,

who are Canadian residents over 18 years of age and under 65 years

of age. Customers are not required to fill out an extensive health

questionnaire to enroll in the plan.

Complete information about the Enbridge Payment Protection Plan,

including terms and conditions, is available at

www.enbridgeprotect.com. Customers can discontinue the plan at any

time without penalty.
