Enbridge and BC Gas International to Operate Oman National Natural Gas System

CALGARY, ALBERTA--A consortium consisting of Enbridge Technology

Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Enbridge Inc., and BC Gas

International Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of BC Gas Inc., has

been awarded a five-year contract to operate and maintain the

natural gas transmission system owned by Oman Gas Company in the

Sultanate of Oman.

The two companies will be responsible for operating and

maintaining this growing natural gas pipelines system that soon

will include approximately 1800 kilometres of pipeline. There is

an existing 800-kilometre pipeline that currently delivers natural

gas to various industrial customers and power plants, and two new

gas pipelines totaling approximately 1000 kilometres in length are

under construction.

A new Omani company called Canadian Energy Services L.L.C., a

joint venture between Enbridge Technology, BC Gas International

and OHI Petroleum & Energy Services L.L.C., a subsidiary of one of

the largest publicly traded companies in Oman, has been

established in Muscat.
